David "Dave" Robert Andrews' Obituary
David “Dave” Robert Andrews, age 66, born September 2, 1956 in Crescent City, CA to Arthur and Fairy Andrews, passed away peacefully, after an almost 18-month battle with metastatic melanoma, on May 14, 2023 at Providence Hospital in Portland, OR.
Dave attended Clackamas High School, where he graduated in 1974. He worked at Westwood Thriftway, which is where he met Debbie Storkel, his wife of 44 years.
Dave and Debbie were married at Clackamas Park Friends Church in Milwaukie, Oregon, on July 16, 1977, and resided in Colton, OR where they had the home and land, they had always dreamed of.
Dave spent approximately 45 years in the woodworking industry, having retired as a Project Manager shortly before his death. He built cabinets, bookshelves, and dressers for family and friends, and played an integral part in installations at Red Lions, Old Country Buffets, Borders Books, and many hospitals, banks, and schools. He was a father and a grandfather, who loved to hunt, fish and tinker in the garage. One of his mottos was “You catch it. You clean it.”
Loved like a brother by his friends, and cherished by his family, Dave was always ready with a joke or a fishing or hunting story. He was a perfectionist when it came to woodworking, and always made sure cabinets and anything he touched were built the “right way.”
Dave was preceded in death by his wife, mother, father, grandparents, and aunts and uncles on both sides of his parents’ families.
He is survived by his daughter, Trisha (Spencer) McGrath-Agg; son, Aaron (Becky) Andrews; sisters, Peggy (Kent) Affolter, Dee Sharpes, Mary Lou Steen; brother, Brad (Sharlene) Andrews; and five grandchildren: Brittany, David, Ayden, Alice, and Grace.
Dave’s service will take place on Saturday, June 10th, at 2pm at the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Oregon City (1321 Linn Ave, Oregon City, OR 97045-3664).
After the service, we invite you to bring your memories, stories, and laughter to share over a pasta dinner honoring Dave.
4pm at the Clackamas Old Spaghetti Factory (12725 SE 93rd Ave, Clackamas, OR 97015).
