Cynthia Marie Foster's Obituary
Obituary for Cynthia Marie Foster (Burnett)
Cynthia Marie Foster was born on January 16, 1960, in Oregon City, Oregon, and passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026, just days before her 66th birthday.
Cindy grew up in Oregon City, where she was a true tomboy at heart. She loved rough housing with her older brother Tony, riding motorcycles with her dad, and spending time with the grandparents she adored. Never afraid of hard work or getting dirty, Cindy met life head-on with grit, humor, and strength. At the same time, she carried her mother Maria’s gentle magic—she loved fairies, sparkly things, and all the small wonders that made life beautiful.
A devoted animal lover, Cindy had a deep compassion for all living things and never judged anyone for their lifestyle or choices. She worked as a caregiver, a role that fit her perfectly, offering love, dignity, and kindness to every client she served.
In the late 1980s, Cindy moved to Lacomb, Oregon, where she raised her daughters—and just about every other kid who needed a place to sleep or a warm meal. Her home was a safe haven. She was the mom kids went to when they were hungry, hurting, or just needed a hug. Her laundry hamper was always full, her couch never empty, and her heart always open.
Cindy was unapologetically herself. She spoke her mind, never held her tongue, and proudly said she would never be remembered as a woman who kept her mouth shut. She loved fiercely, laughed loudly, and lived honestly.
In 2012, she returned to Oregon City, where she cherished time with her grandsons, cheering them on at their sporting events and watching them grow into the young people she was so proud of. She found peace in gardening, spending hours with her flowers and watching hummingbirds dance through her yard. In her later years, Cindy became an avid rock painter—much to the playful teasing of her family—as her kitchen quickly filled with her colorful creations.
Cindy will be remembered for her incredible food, sharp sense of humor, contagious laugh, and the soft, comforting hugs that made everything feel okay. She would do anything for the people she loved, and she loved deeply.
She is survived by her daughter Amanda Foster and her grandson Ewa Arndt; her daughter Andrea Campbell her husband Rian Campbell, and their children Rilan Campbell and Cason Campbell. She is also survived by her brother Tony Burnett his wife Dianne Burnett, and their children Anthony Burnett and Ashley Burnett; and her brother David Burnett his wife Lori Burnett, and their children Jake Burnett and Sam Burnett.
Cindy was preceded in death by her mother, Maria Cisneros Ramsey, and her father, David Burnett.
Cindy’s ashes will be scattered in a private ceremony with immediate family. A celebration of life will be held in early summer, when the flowers are in bloom—just as she would have wanted. Date and location to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the ASPCA, a cause Cindy supported monthly and held close to her heart.
Her laugh, her honesty, her love, and her spirit will be deeply missed and forever carried by those who knew her.
