Clarence Lee Jolliffe's Obituary
Clarence Lee Jolliffe passed away March 27, 2013 at the home of his daughter, Becky Dreyer, in Oregon City, OR. He was 86 years of age. He was born May 31, 1926 in North Platte, Nebraska, the son of Clarence Edward "Jolly" Jolliffe and Irma Matilda Miller.He moved with his parents to Portland, Oregon about 1940 and spent the rest of his life in the Portland area. He served with the US Army during World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star for heroic service. After his military service he was employed at the Portland Woolen Mills and later worked for many years at the United Grocers Warehouse until his retirement. After his retirement he worked part-time at a Hobby Shop which he greatly enjoyed.During his early years, Lee enjoyed Stock Car racing and Skin-Diving at Lake Merwin in Washington. In his later years he was interested in building model boats, ships and airplanes and took great pleasure in these hobbies.He was a kind, gentle soul with a great sense of humor, who nurtured and appreciated the sanctity of life and family. His soft spoken and genuine demeanor epitomized him as a member of the greatest generation.He was united in marriage to Mrs. Shirley (Duckworth) Mihoover in 1946 and they were the parents of three children, Carol, David and Rebecca. He was again united in marriage to Mrs. Mavis (Haglund) Kehm in 1963 and they were the parents of two sons, Troy and Victor.Lee was preceded in death by his parents and one son, David Edward Jolliffe.He is survived by his wife, Mavis Jolliffe, of Milwaukie, Oregon, four children, Carol, Becky, Troy and Victor and 4 step-children, Skip, Lee, Peggy and Laura, 9 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.contact: www.waudsfuneralservice.com
