Charles Walter "Walt" Dicken

Charles Walter "Walt" Dicken was born in Oregon City on October 13, 1921, where he spent his childhood and graduated from Oregon City High School in 1940. The majority of Walt's working career was spent in the hardware business from working in his parent's store, owning his own business, to working for Wink's Hardware for over 20 years. Walt married his true companion, Dorothy, in August of 1971 and together raised their daughter in SE Portland.
Walt was an amazing craftsman and enjoyed home improvement projects and landscaping. He was a kind and generous man always willing to help out friends, family and neighbors. He had a warm welcoming personality and knew no strangers. Walt and Dorothy were able to fulfill their dreams of owning a cabin on the McKenzie River and retiring to Kona Hawaii.
On April 14th at the age of 94, he could no longer be without his beloved wife, Dorothy. Walt is survived by his brother Glenn of Houston Texas, son Ted and daughter-in-law, Kathy of Klamath Falls, daughter Sandy and son-in-law, Donavin of Oregon City, 5 grand- children, and nine great grand-children. Interment Ceremony will be held on April 29th at 2pm at Mt. View Cemetery in Oregon City.
