Brett Curtis Bonney's Obituary
Brett Curtis Bonney was born August 26th, 1965 in Redmond, OR. He passed away March 30th, 2026 at home in Oregon City after a courageous battle with colon cancer.
Brett is survived by his daughters Leanne Bonney, Heather Bonney, and Bailey Bonney-Vogler (Brandn). Grandchildren Calliope and Rylo. His loving mother Patricia Puckett. Father Bart Bonney. And his longtime partner Judi Boyd, as well as her children Blaine and Brooke (Alex) and grandchildren Ezra, Ashton, Callum, Autumn, and Layton. He is preceded in death by his sister Barbie.
After graduation from Rex Putnam High School in 1983, Brett joined The United States Marine Corps. Brett was incredibly proud to have served in The Marines and to have been part of something bigger than himself. Being a Marine afforded him the opportunity to travel throughout Japan, Korea, and Europe. And it was during this time that he started his family.
Brett truly loved being a “girl dad” and was an incredibly hands on parent. From coaching little league sports, to cheering on his girls no matter the activity. Brett was the dad who always showed up. And he always showed up for everyone in his life.
Almost as much as he loved his family, Brett loved his sports. You could always catch him with a game or Sports Center on the tv. And he was a pro at finding a way to plan travel around a game and would use a work trip as an excuse to check out a new team.
When one says that a person lights up a room when they walk into it, they are describing Brett Bonney. He was the person that you just naturally gravitated to. His infectious smile, bright blue eyes, and charming personality won everyone over. To know him was to love him. Our world is a little dimmer without him in it.
Brett will be remembered and missed by the many friends and family he has all over.
Rest in peace Daddy, and GO DODGERS!
