Bradden "Brad" Jay Wishoff's Obituary
Bradden “Brad” Jay Wishoff, 62, passed away with his wife by his side on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at his home in Oregon City, Oregon, the result of natural causes.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 36 years, Sally (Leuck) Wishoff and his daughter and only child, Amber Wishoff-Martin (Jacob Martin), with whom he loved to travel, attend concerts and sporting events, and play tabletop games; his newborn granddaughter and namesake, Eleanora Jay, who arrived in time to meet him before he passed; his siblings, Clayton (Dawn) Wishoff, Lisa Morgan, and Joshua Wishoff; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins that held a dear place in his heart.
Bradden was born January 2, 1961, in Los Angeles and raised in Downey and Glendale, California. He graduated from Downey High School, where his participation in wrestling, football, and baseball helped cultivate his lifelong affinity for sports. Among his favorite teams were the Los Angeles Anaheim Angels, Los Angeles Rams, and USC Trojans. It was a rare occasion when he missed a game.
After high school he graduated from Glendale Community College before studying at Cerritos College, Long Beach State University, and finally --after moving to the Pacific Northwest with his young family-- the University of Oregon.
A supporting husband, an encouraging father, and a dedicated man of God, he greatly valued both his family and his faith.
He was a quiet man but served others in a big way. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he’d spent time serving in the Elder’s Quorum, Sunday School, and Primary; He took pride in supporting and seeing the youth engaging with Early Morning Seminary; He considered some of his Home Teaching Families an extension of his own; and most recently he’d found great purpose and joy while serving in the Temple every week.
He will be remembered by his loved ones for his love of music and sports; his perfectly timed puns; his strong internal compass; his comforting embrace; and his all-inclusive heart.
A memorial service will be held Friday, December 8, at 11am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 15344 S Henrici Rd. Oregon City, OR. 97045.
