Barbara Jean Boatwright 1/7/1937 - 12/18/2015
Barbara passed peacefully in her Clackamas home at the age of 78. She was born in Tacoma, Washington and grew up with her sister Mary Anne in Lake Oswego, Oregon. She attended Lake Oswego High School where she was a member of the swim team. In addition to spending her summers on the Lake, Barbara had many hobbies including; swimming, bowling, sewing, crafts and baking.
In 1955 Barbara joined the US Marine Corps and served at Camp Pendleton in Ocean Side, California. It just happens to also be where she met and married her husband James Richard Boatwright. Following her time in California, Barbara moved to Tacoma, Washington and later to Oregon City, Oregon with her husband and three sons; James, Mark and Harold. Barbara's career included being a nurse and a talented independent seamstress for more than 30 years. Barbara had many friends and loved organizing high school reunions.
Barbara is survived by her older sister Anne, and two of her three sons; James and Harold. Her son Mark passed this last August. Barbara had many friends, loved organizing high school reunions. A service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 1:30PM at the Willamette National Cemetery.
