Antonie Skaper's Obituary
Antoine Skaper was born in Germany in the small Bavarian town of Kempten in Allgäu. She immigrated to Chicago at the age of 21 where she enjoyed an exciting career with Greyhound Bus Lines before marrying her husband Edmund and then moving to Oregon City in 1968. Known as "Toni" to her friends, she loved gardening, traveling, reading and her service organization, The German-American Society. She will be dearly missed and remembered lovingly for her fierce independence, loyalty, generosity, extraordinary work ethic and love of family.
Antonie passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness with her two daughters by her side. She was widowed in 2001 and is survived by her daughters Romy Skaper and Tanya Skaper, twin Adolf Froehlich, older brother Eduard Froehlich and his wife Ursula.
The family would like to thank the Kaiser Hospice Team for their excellent care and compassion and requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Antonie's memory to one of the following: German-American Society, Oregon Humane Society, Portland Kaiser Hospice Care.
A memorial service will be held October 20th at 3 PM at Abernethy Chapel in Oregon City.
