Angeline Mae Stetzel's Obituary
Angeline "Mae" Stetzel
April 22,1926 - April 12, 2015
Angeline, known to many as Mae, passed away April 12th just 10 days short of what would have been her 89th birthday. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family. Angeline was born in West Linn, Oregon to John & Margaret Rowe, she was the second of three daughters. Times were hard, and Angeline held various jobs as a young woman to help her family with the money she made. One of these jobs included working in the ship yard where she fondly remembered meeting Roy Rogers who was there with his horse Trigger. During her young adulthood Angeline was very close to her second cousins, (the Eisele family) and spent some time staying with them. Throughout her life the bond she had formed with them was of great importance to her, and brought her much happiness.
She married George Stetzel in 1952, and they built a home in Oregon City where they lived for 45 years and raised a son and daughter. George & Angeline were active members of the Evangelical church in Oregon City. In 1963 Angeline began working in the snack bar at Tri-City Bowling Alley which she managed for 15 years. This was a wonderful job for Angeline who loved working with food and was a great cook. Pies were her specialty, and besides making them for the snack bar, she was sought out by other establishments to make pies for them as well. Following the bowling alley, she worked for Meier & Frank for 10 years and then retired.
Angeline was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She had a kind and generous spirit toward everyone who came into her life. She will be dearly missed.
