Alfred John Gettel's Obituary
Alfred J. Gettel of West Linn passed away on August 10th, 2017. He was 96 years young. He will be deeply missed by his family.
He loved and was committed to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is now home with his Lord. Our father was as solid as they come and he provided a strong family foundation. He had a positive influence on our lives and those of many others who knew him.
He taught us the values of hard work, commitment, humility, honesty and being a Good Samaritan to others. We remember and will cherish our special times at our beach cabin along with all those birthday and holiday celebrations with family and friends.
Al is survived by his wife of almost 67 years, Patricia (Frost), his four children: Mark (Pam) Gettel, Karen (Wayne) McClelland, Greg (Lauri) Gettel, and Randy (Lorinda) Gettel, his three grandsons: Alex, Austin and Jason (Cherie) Gettel along with his three step-grandsons and seven great step-grandchildren.
The Memorial Service will be held on September 9th at 11 am at West Linn Lutheran Church, 20390 Willamette DR, West Linn, OR 97068.
