Alfonso Amaya's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alfonso, a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, Godparent, and friend who left this world on June 19th, 2026, in Oregon City, Oregon.
He was born on November 2nd, 1952, in Lockney, Texas. Alfonso was the son of Santiago Flores Amaya and Cresencia Martinez Amaya. Migrated to Oregon from Texas in the 1960's with his family, where they lived and worked at Green Villa Farms. He attended Central High School, and received his associates at the Barber College in Salem, Oregon. Later ultimately retired from TransOcean, and moved to San Antonio, Texas where he lived until God called him home.
In his personal life Alfonso was married to Alma Delia Salinas and together they share Melissa Amaya-Torres (Luis), and Francisco Amaya. He later remarried Diana Leon Camero and together they share Santiago Amaya, Famia Amaya, Vanessa Amaya-Villarreal (Emily), and Joe Camero. He was also a devoted grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, who brought immense happiness into his life.
Alfonso was stubborn and ornery and known for his quick wit and smile, always ready for a joke to lighten the mood. Though his journey on this earth has come to an end, his spirit and the love he shared with those around him will remain eternally cherished. He is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Donato, Consuelo, Jimmy, Domingo Sr, Esperanza, Francisca, and his son Santiago Amaya.
A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Alfonso at a later date where family and friends can gather to celebrate him. Though he is no longer with us in person, his spirit will live on in the stories, laughter, and love of those who knew him.
As we say goodbye to Alfonso, remember him with a drink and a smile.
