Olinda Mae Muylle was born on April 17, 1929 in Fort Collins, CO. She was called home to be reunited with her late husband, Raymond, on May 18, 2020 in the home they shared in Oregon City, Oregon, exactly 51 years to the day from his passing. She was 91.
Olinda was one of 13 children, born in the midst of the Great Depression. As a young girl, she moved to Oregon along with her younger sister Helen to be raised by their aunt. She and Helen maintained a close sisterly bond throughout their lives until Helen’s passing in 2013. Olinda graduated from Oregon City Highschool in 1947 and then went on to work for US Bank. She met and fell in love with a Marine home from WWII and the Korean war, Raymond Muylle, and they were married on August 13, 1954. They welcomed their first daughter Diane in 1955 and their second daughter Karen in 1958.
In 1969 she found herself battling the biggest obstacle of her life when she lost her husband to cancer and became a widowed mother. From that moment on she devoted her life to raising and providing all she could for her daughters. She worked tirelessly in a multitude of jobs until retiring at the age of 72.
Olinda is survived by her daughter Diane Eberhardt and son-in-law David Eberhardt Jr. of Fairview, OR; her daughter Karen Monsrud and son-in-law Stephen Monsrud of Washougal, WA; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on June 17, 2020 with her immediate family at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, OR.
