Verle Maxine Zacur

June 18, 1916 - December 20, 2012

Verle M. Zacur, know to many as "Zac", born June 18, 1916 was reunited with the love of her life, Charles P. Zacur, on December 20, 2012. Verle was born and raised in the Willamette area of West Linn, graduating from West Linn High School and then continuing her education at Linfield College where she met Charles. Married in August of 1941 the two began their careers in Education. Verle was a PE/English major and taught in Dundee, Newport, etc. then moving to West Linn in 1955 where she also taught and has resided until her passing. She was the only child of Hilda (Kaiser) and Conrad Zimmerman. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Charles. Verle loved life and enjoyed fishing, bowling, gardening, and viewing the wild life in her back yard. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with her daughters and their husbands. She is survived by her two daughters, Donna Mackie and husband James of Albany, Robbi Porter-Carey and husband Mike of Hillsboro, grand-daughter Kristina Mackie Duggan and her husband Derek, grandson David Mackie and his wife Ali, great grand-children Dax and Kannan Duggan and Emery Mackie, along with nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and special neighbors. A viewing will be available at Holman-Hankins-Bowker & Waud in Oregon City on Thursday, December 27th from 1-4pm and Friday December 28th from 9-noon. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, January 5th at Bolton Primary School on Holmes St in West Linn from 1:00-3:00PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you make a donation in her memory to the charity of your choice.
