Thomas Corbin Lewis Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Thomas Corbin Lewis, 83, made his final journey home on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from complications related to his Lewy Body dementia. He had been in hospice care for 6 months. Tom passed away peacefully in his sleep with his family at his side. Tom is survived by his wife and soulmate Debbie Lewis, residing in Oregon City, Oregon; children Jesse Lewis and wife Jan, Karyn Livengood and husband Michael, Jenny Lewis, Craig Walker, Matt Walker and husband Elliott, Heather Crowell and husband Kenny, and Thomas James Conway and wife Lucy; Grandchildren Jimmy Barnhill, Jenny Barnhill, Jamie Lewis-Hychko, Kenny Cornett, Richard Cornett, PB Peeler, April Crowell, Derek Crowell, Nick Hoyez, Kenna Hoyez, Kammie Costa, Nick Walker, Dalton Rogers, Jesse Hoyez, Garrett Rogers, Hannah Rogers; 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great, great-grandchild. He is also survived by his sisters Loretta, Sarah and brothers Harold and Roger as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Lastly, he is survived by his fur babies Daisy and Sammy. Tom was preceded in death by children Robin Lewis and Laura Hoyez, mother Rozella Lewis and father Jesse Lewis. Also preceding him in death was his sister Hazel Lewis. Thomas Corbin Lewis was born in a holler in Tazewell, Virginia on April 25, 1933. He served in the army for 2 years during the Korean War (after fibbing about his age) and was stationed in Japan. After discharge from the Army, Tom enjoyed building/racing cars and boats, hunting, and fishing. Tom did several jobs before venturing into auto body repair. He owned a few shops and eventually settled in Oregon City, Oregon. Tom enjoyed spending time with his family most though, whether traveling, camping, fishing, or just gathering at home. He was a consummate joker and there was never a dull moment while around him. He was brutally honest, but never met a stranger. His personality was contagious and he was loved by all that were fortunate enough to have known him. Tom will be sorely missed but never forgotten! If you were lucky enough to have met and known Tom, your life has surely been changed forever! Look out St. Peter, the "Legend" is on his way! A private celebration of life will be held at the family home on September 17, 2016 @ 2:00 p.m.
