RICHARD ALBERT VOLPP Dec. 1,1919 Nov. 30, 2013 Richard was born to Elise and Adolph Volpp in Willamette, Oregon. He attended school in Willamette and West Linn High School. He served in the army from 1942 - 1945. In the anti-aircraft division - in France, and Germany. He married Nayda Geske in January 7, 1943. They would have celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary this month. He worked for Carl Bernert with the tug boats hauling logs on the Willamette River before entering the service and when he returned home. He retired after working 30 years at the Willamette Falls Locks. Richard was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran church where he was baptized and confirmed. In retirement he enjoyed fishing, gardening, working with stain glass and cutting and polishing rocks. He was a perfectionist in all he did. He is survived by his sister Evelyn (Ralph )Fischer, Dallas, Oregon. Daughter-in-law Beth Volpp of Oregon City - Six Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Anna Wilkinson, Orlena Staats and son, Richard M. Volpp. Celebration of life will be at Zion Lutheran Church, Oregon City at II :00 A.M. January 9,2013. Private interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church or the Charity of your choice. NAYDA MAY VOLPP July 5,1924 Dec. 1,2013 Nayda was born to Virginia and Leo Geske in Portland, Oregon. She attended school in Gresham, Oregon and West Linn High School where she graduated. Nayda was raised by her Grandmother Rose Tompkins. She married Richard A. Volpp on January 7,1943. Nayda worked for many years in Oswego for Dr. Grimwood. Nayda loved to sing and sang for many years in the choir at Zion Lutheran Church where she was a member. She also sang at weddings, funerals and other special occasions. She is survived by a brother Ronald Geske of Beaverton, Oregon. Daughter in Law, Beth Volpp of Oregon City, and sister in law Evelyn, (Ralph) Fischer, Dallas, Oregon. She was preceded in death by son, Richard M. Volpp.Her Celebration of Life will be with her husband, Richard, at Zion Lutheran Church, Oregon City, at 11 :00 A. M. January 9, 2013. Private interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church or the Charity of your choice.
