Miriam E. Fien Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Miriam Elizabeth Fien, 83, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on January 23rd, 2020. She had an untreatable lung condition, that suddenly got worse not allowing her body to get oxygen. After a wonderful Christmas party at her house (her favorite holiday!), she became increasingly ill and ended up in the hospital. The hospital discovered her heart was also struggling, and the strain of multiple organs caused her body to shut down. Miriam is survived by her three daughters Karen, Sandi and Robin, her six grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren, who fondly referred to her as "GG". Miriam grew up in California, where she married the love of life, Edward. Edward's career moved the family to Oregon where they bought a home on 4 acres and had many animals. When Edward passed in 1991, Miriam took over his position as a Sales Rep for Mohawk Finishing Products. Miriam thrived in her role, ranking as one of the top sales representatives in the company for many years and earning many all-inclusive trips to various places around the world. She loved her job, and her family was very proud of her for doing a "man's job". She finally retired at the age of 70, where she enjoyed doing what she loved most, spending time with family, knitting and reading. She made friends with everyone she met; people were always drawn to her. Whether it was the girls at the coffee shop, people at the grocery store or the nurses at the hospital. A natural optimist, she had so much fun living and enjoying life to the fullest, with a big heart she was a delight to all who knew her. She enjoyed life and her family and was a source of strength and inspiration. She left the world a better place and will be greatly missed. A truly wonderful woman. Please join us for a celebration of her life for friends and family to be held on February 9th, 2020 from 1PM to 4PM at Tumwater Room located at The Museum of Oregon Territory, 211 Tumwater Drive, Oregon City, OR, next to the Willamette River Waterfalls. A Private burial service for close family will be held on February 8th.
