Melinda Louise Woody Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Melinda Louise Woody Melinda 'Lynn' Louise Woody (Walstrom) entered eternal life on the morning of April 28, 2017. Lynn was born and raised in Oregon City, OR. She was the youngest of 6 children. After graduating from Oregon City High School Lynn went to work at the West Linn Paper Mill for a few years. In 1954, at the age of 20, Lynn married the love of her life Donald Woody. They were married for 48 years, until his death in 2003. Together they had two children, Mike and Patricia. Lynn was a stay at home mother who took immense pride in taking care of their two children and keeping their home running smoothly. She enjoyed spending time with family, beach and camping trips, curling up with a good book, painting, and later in life even playing on one of her several Gameboys. Lynn was famous for her homemade banana bread, applesauce and strawberry jam. If you ever stopped by for a visit you were sure to take home one, if not all, of these delicious makings as she always had her freezer stocked full! Lynn also loved the holidays. Whether it was sending a card in the mail to let you know she was thinking of you, knitting slippers to keep your feet toasty warm, or ornaments to hang on your Christmas tree, she never missed a special occasion. Her greatest quality though was something that couldn't be measured by cups of sugar or feet of yarn... but in her willingness to help others. Whether it be a home cooked meal, a car to borrow, or a place to stay, she was always willing to help anyone who came her way. Lynn is survived by her 2 children Michael Woody (Joanne) and Patricia Westphal (Greg), 4 grandchildren, Danielle Winegar, Nicole Lucenti, Alex Woody and Alicia Westphal, and 4 great-grandchildren. Please join family and friends for a celebration of Lynn's life that will be held on Saturday, June 3rd at 10:30am at the Holman-Hankins Funeral-Bowker & Waud Funeral Home located at 715 7th St Oregon City, OR 97045 Reception to follow, details will be available at the service.
