Marda Dee was born September 26th, 1941 in Walla Walla, Washington to Robert Baker and Delpha Colbert Baker. Marda attended high school at Wa-Hi High School in Walla Walla where she graduated in 1959. She enjoyed her high school years and participated in various clubs that brought girls together, like the 4H Club where she had the opportunity to prepare a dinner for Washington Governor Arthur Langlie in 1956. After high school, Marda attended Central Washington University for two years and spent her summers working as a cook on her step father's wheat ranch. In 1961 she met the love of her life, Kenneth Maestretti, and they married on September 15th 1962. They set out for North Hollywood, California and spent their life together traveling from North Hollywood to Anchorage, Alaska and experiencing everywhere in between. She enjoyed cooking, fishing and camping. Her favorite campground was Hidden Lake, Alaska where many weekends were spent with family and friends. Ken and Marda finally settled in Gladstone, Oregon in 1979. Marda Dee was a very generous and loving woman. She was a one of a kind wife, mother, grandmother and friend whom you could always trust. She was always there when you needed help with something and was the most caring and compassionate person. She was very proud of her family and loved them dearly. She also considered her friends as her family. We all love and miss her very much, and know Marda has truly lived a full life!
