March 26, 1974 - October 29, 2013
LISA RENEE BAYHAMarch 26, 1974 - October 29, 2013 Lisa was born in Oregon City on March 26, 1974, to Debra K. and Trevelyon Jones. From the start, she was adventurous and bravea?"and these traits, more than any others, defined her spirit. Lisa graduated from North Clackamas Christian High School in 1992. Along with the rest of her family, she was active in Rotary, serving as a Rotary Exchange Student to Japan in 1990/91 and being honored as a Paul Harris Fellow. After high school, Lisa attended George Fox University, then took time off to marry and have children. Several years later, when she became a single mom, she dedicated herself to creating a better life for herself and her daughters. While working full-time, she earned her Associate's and Bachelor's Degrees in Accounting. Even a diagnosis of cancer didn't dampen her enthusiasm. When she passed on, she was just two months away from completing her Master's Degree. Lisa also had a passion for running that remained strong during her battle with cancer, and she received tremendous support from her Team in Training group, affiliated with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Earlier this month, she and her daughter, Lindsey, went to San Francisco for the Nike Women's Marathon. While Lisa didn't have the strength to run the full race, she was proud to participate by walking the final half-mile to the finish line. For Lisa, her wonderful daughtersa?"Lindsey (age 17), Lauryn (age 14), and Allison (age 11)a?"were her greatest accomplishment. They were the brightest lights in her life, and she encouraged all three girls to blossom in their own unique ways. Lisa set the example for them to become strong, self-confident young womena?"and she worked endlessly to fill their horizons with possibility. Lisa was a remarkable, courageous woman who never lost her optimism. Through it all, she was cheerful, positive, and full of hope. We will love her always, and we are so proud of her. She is survived by her beloved daughters, Lindsey, Lauryn, and Allison Bayha; her parents, Debbie and Trev Jones; her brother, Craig Jones; her grandparents, Don and Doris Rider; and many other family members and friends who were blessed to be part of her life. We want to thank Lisa's supervisors and co-workers at Clackamas County for their support and generosity throughout her illness, and our local fire and police departments for their extraordinary kindness. There will be a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 4, at the Museum of the Oregon Territory, 211 Tumwater Drive, Oregon City. Arrangements by Holman Hankins Bowker & Waud. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Team in Training (teamintraining.org).
