Joyce L Simpson

Joyce L. Simpson, age 82, formerly of Oregon City, OR, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Lutheran Village at Wolfcreek in Toledo, OH. She was born on October 4, 1933 to John W. and Ruth W. (Wall) Patterson. Joyce was a devout born-again Christian and was welcomed by God, her Lord and Savior and greeted by her parents; husband, Joseph D. Simpson and son, Joey Gale Simpson. Before moving to Ohio in 2015 to be closer to her sister Lois, Joyce was a longtime member of Oregon City Evangelical Church where she was involved with their Bible study groups and breakfast with her fellow sisters in Christ. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Mark (Janie Lasell) Simpson; sister, Lois Pleiss; nieces, Shannon (William) Lewis, Dawn (Les) Delima; Pam (Richard) Corron and her daughter, whom was very special to Joyce, Brandy Robinson; Michelle Waite; nephew, Michael (Heidi) Patterson; many great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph D. Simpson; son, Joey G. Simpson and brothers, Harry W. and Max W. Patterson. Her graveside service will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Willamette National Cemetery, 11800 SE Mt. Scott Blvd., Portland, OR 97086. She will be buried next to her husband. Officiating will be Pastor Tom Hurt from Oregon City Evangelical Church.
