James Swanson

April 1, 1949 - October 16, 2020

James (Jim) Swanson was born 04/01/1949 in Mitchell, South Dakota.  Jim passed away 10/16/2020 at his home in Oregon City. He spent his first 6 years in Chamberlin, South Dakota. 1956, the family moved to Tillamook, Oregon. In 1957 the family moved to Tigard.  He attended public school and graduated from Tigard High School in 1967.  After high school he attended Central Oregon Community College. He loved Central Oregon and enjoyed the slopes at Mt. Bachelor.  He returned to the Portland area and worked for the Railroad as a welder and later he earned his certification to be an EMT 3.  Later he pursued his interests in computers. He is survived by his Sister, Patti Myers , his Brother In Law, Bob Myers. His niece Jessica and Jeremiah Webster and their daughter, Madison.  His friends, Carl & Sherrill Anderson and their son, Barrett. John and Valerie Driscoll, Larry Finley, James King, Bonnie Pape-Tracy, Tony Allen and Eddie Martinez.   Both Parents preceded him in death.  He had two cats that he adored.  His passions included his cats, Wildlife, Hiking, boating and reading. There will be no memorial at this time. We would like to do a Celebration of Life for Jim once the Covid virus is over.
