Hattie Lydia Ketterling

Hattie L. Ketterling passed away on August 4, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was 89 years old. Hattie was born on July 4, 1923, in Heil, North Dakota, to parents John and Caroline Theurer. On September 7, 1947, she married her husband Herbert Ketterling in North Dakota. Hattie was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Gladstone for 60 years. She enjoyed volunteering at church, baking and sewing. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Herbert; Daughters Dian Ketterling of Burley, Idaho and Barbara Timmons of Scappoose; Son Dale Ketterling of West Linn; Grandchildren Angie Schow and husband Jeff, Brock and Tanner Ketterling, and Cory Timmons; Great-Grandchildren Hunter Timmons and RJ, Carrie, Nick, and Jake Salvi; Sister Georgia Rhodes and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by parents John and Caroline, 4 sisters and 3 brothers. Special thanks go out to Hattie's Providence Hospice Team; Sasha Holden, Ili Veley, Sarah Neudeck, Pam DeVisser and Kelley Miller. Memorial donations may be made to Providence Hospice or St. Stephen Lutheran Church Memorial Scholarship Fund. Visitation will be held at Holman-Hankins-Bowker & Waud, 715 7th street, Oregon City, on Thursday, August 9, 2012, from 2:00-5:00pm. A Funeral service will be on Friday, August 10, at 11:00am, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 290 W. Gloucester, Gladstone, followed by a committal service at Willamette National Cemetery.
