Elema Ethelene Plumlee May 27, 1940 - June 22, 2013 Elema (Fisher) Plumlee peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Providence-Willamette Falls Hospital with her family by her side. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Elema was born on May 27, 1940 in Fort Worth, Texas at the county hospital to Jessie Lee Crane, 17 years old and Estel Oliver Lee Fisher, 20 years old. Estel was a laborer who was born in Robstown Texas. Jessie was a homemaker born in Lamesa, Texas. Her mother and step-father, Vernon Miller raised her.At the age of 18, she met and married her loving husband Roy Charles Plumlee and during the next 43 wonderful years together, they raised two children Debby Larsen and Ronald Plumlee. They moved to several towns and cities in Northern California due to Roy's work on the Western Pacific/Union Pacific Railroad, including Quincy, Thornton and Sacramento. Eventually they settled in Olivehurst, CA in 1972. Elema was a wonderful human being who loved God, her family and friends. She was a homemaker who took great pride in helping others and lovingly caring for her family. She was a caretaker for her mother, Jessie Lee Miller during the final years of her mom's life. Elema loved watching the soap operas The Young and the Restless, Bold and the Beautiful, As the World Turns and Guiding Light. She enjoyed watching movies and particularly liked old westerns, Elvis movies and scary movies. She liked going to drive-in movies when they were still available. Her favorite foods were fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, watermelon, strawberries, and buttermilk bars. Her favorite color was purple, especially lavender. Her favorite religious song has always been The Old Rugged Cross. In 2001 Roy was called home and Elema moved from California to Oregon to make her home near her daughter, Debby and grandson, Thomas. Son, Ron joined his mom in Oregon in 2008. She is survived by her daughter Debby Larsen (Tom), son Ronald Plumlee (Bonnie) both of Oregon City, OR, grandchildren: Thomas Longwell (Natasha) of Oregon City, OR, Michael Plumlee of Olivehurst, CA, Sadie Jackson of Oregon City, OR and great-grandchildren: Kylie Slocum, Reilly Stone, Tommy Longwell, Spencer Slocum and Audrie Longwell, her brothers, Larry Miller of Meridian, CA and Tommy Fisher of Houston, TX, her sisters Sandi Johnson of Pasadena, TX and Carolyn Mears of Layton, UT, her uncles Gene Crane (Francis) of Corpus Cristi, TX, Joe Waller of Pasadena, TX, and Carl Waller of Beaumont TX; and aunt Linda Price of Corpus Cristi, TX, numerous nieces and nephews; and her special friends Donna Mroczek and Ron Instenes. In addition to her parents,Jessie Lee Miller, Vernon Miller and Estel (Jim) Fisher, Elema was preceded in death by her husband Roy, and her sisters Ola Mae Mitchell and Brenda Metcalf, and her nephews Hank Johnson, Bobby Lee Andrews and Eddie Andrews.A celebration of life for Elema will be this Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 3:30PM at Holman-Hankins-Bowker & Waud. Viewing will be held at 3:00PM to 3:30PM. She will be forever in our hearts and dreams. Until we meet again. You are our Sunshine...
