Doris Anne Wallis

Dorris Wallis 2/9/1928 - 10/6/2016 Doris Wallis passed away on Thursday, October 6. She was born on February 9, 1928 in Oregon City (whose parents were Carl & Marie Troxel).  She went to McLaughlin Institute on the Bluff in Oregon City.  She later went to Oregon City High School where she was the Point Guard for the girls basketball team and the pitcher for the girls fast pitch softball team. Doris married Charlie Wallis who is from Topeka, Kansas  on May 12, 1951. Doris was the bookkeeper for Posey Lumber Company for many years and retired when she gave birth to her only child in 1964. Doris was a very active member of the Altar Society at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church where she also volunteered many hours at the church's grade school.  She also was a driver for Meals on Wheels in Oregon City.  While volunteering with Meals on Wheels, she got the opportunity to meet President George Bush Sr. Doris is survived by her husband, Charlie of Gladstone; her son, Mike of Astoria; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations designated for the Cemetery Fund may be made to St John the Apostle Catholic Church in Oregon City.
