Delores Darlene Du Bell Hoffee

September 14, 1933 - February 11, 2013

On Thursday, Sept 14 1933 Delores Darlene Du Bell was born in Custer, SD. She was the first daughter born to Iona and Leander Du Bell. Delores was known as Darlene since the time she was just a wee babe. When Darlene was just an infant the family moved to Oregon City, Oregon where the family built a farmstead. As the eldest girl in a family of six children Darlene helped her family thru the good times and the bad. As time marched on Darlene started a family of her own. She held different positions from the woolen mills to her job at Good Samaritan Hospital where she flourished and found many friendships. Darlene had two daughters and a son who was the apple of her eye. Darlene had many loves from her family, traveling, cake decorating to her dogs. She had a special love for her grandchildren and had a special relationship with each one. The promise of a new baby always brought a tear to her eye and a smile to her face. With eleven grandchildren and over seventeen great and great-great grandchildren there were plenty of smiles and happy tears. She was certainly the matriarch of her family. There are many happy memories of her with her family whether it is Easter egg hunts, picnics, playing dice or any of the many family get-togethers. As of late Darlene enjoyed playing bingo and visiting friends at numerous senior centers. Darlene struggled with medical conditions and finally succumbed to her ill health Monday February 11th 2013, she went home to join her son Ernest Eyster, parents and 4 siblings. Darlene is survived by her sister Laura Drewer, and her daughters Linda Eyster and Marlene Parks. A funeral service will be held at Holman-Hankins-Bowker & Waud on Tuesday February 19, 2013 at 11:00AM followed by a committal service at Mtn. View Cemetery.
