CLAUDE "MARTIN" HANSON (Oct.4, 1930 - Oct. 21. 2016 Martin Hanson was born in Gobel, OR to Mr. Orval and Dorothea Hanson. Martin spent a lot of time on Grandpa Peter and Grandma Julia Larson's farm in Gobel, OR. A place he loved and always called home. His education was in the Portland area attending Shattuck Grade School and Benson High School. Martin's life was a life of service. He spent 6 yrs. in the Army serving in Japan and Korea (where he was wounded) and later with the Reserves. After the Army he was a Washington State Patrol Officer for 6 yrs. and then as a police officer in the Clackamas County area for 2 1/2 yrs.. He drove truck for 10 yrs. and then became a Security Guard and worked for a Motor Escort Service until his retirement. Martin spent 4 yrs. delivering Meals on Wheels and helping elderly people with errands and repairs. Martin use to love to hang out at Art's Café in Oregon City where he met and made life long friends. Martin is survived by his cousins' Darrell Larson, Portland, Or; Joyce Cramer, Dallas, OR; Arlene Navarro, Yukon, OK.; and his best friend Irish Ryan, Victorville, CA who was like a son to him. His greatest love was riding his Harley and usually with his friend Irish.
