Tina Jo Carmack died on October 12, 2018 at Legacy Meridian Hospital in Tualatin OR. She fought a long, hard battle with Muscular Dystrophy which caused aspiration pneumonia. She was surrounded by the love of her family when she passed.
Tina is survived by her daughter Ryann Rice and grandson Carson Rice of Oregon City. Her 2 sisters Shanan Queener and Cori Douglas along with her mother Virginia King of Grants Pass OR. She was preceded in death by her daughter Rachael Carmack and father Jerry Douglas.
Tina was born on September 18, 1963 in Madras, OR. She graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1981. While in middle school and high school, Tina was a competitive swimmer and was awarded many medals. She then continued to get an associate degree at Rogue Community College. She and her now ex-husband, Kevin, moved to Alaska with their 2 daughters in 1991. There she worked as the Office Manager for KIAK radio station until she moved back to Oregon in 1996. From then on she worked at various companies as an Accounts Payable Specialist until she went on disability due to MD in 2008.
Tina loved dancing, riding her horses and music. Her favorite type of music was country along with the seventies and eighties. She passed along her love of music and dancing to both her daughters. Tina loved her family more than anything and was born a natural nurturer. Her family will miss her greatly.
A celebration of life is scheduled at The Lodge at Riverside Event Center (940 SE 7th Street
Grants Pass, OR) at 3:00 pm on October 27th 2018.All are welcome to attend and celebrate Tina’s life. Flowers and condolences may be sent to her daughter’s address at 385 Elmwood Ct, Oregon City OR 97045.
