Stephen Lewis Howe, of Mulino Oregon, passed away with family by his side after a long yet graceful fight against Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).
Steve was born to the late Warren L. and Mary O. (McMahon) Howe on October 13, 1945. He grew up in the Woodstock neighborhood and graduated from Cleveland High School in 1963. He married Sandy M. (Kitchen) December 27, 1968.
Steve worked as a carpenter and was proud of his contribution to a variety of buildings and projects in the Portland area.
Steve is survived by his wife Sandy, two daughters Nicole Howe of Portland and Jessie Sandrock (David) of Hillsboro. He is also survived by his four grandsons, Enzo and Moss of Portland and Henry and Cecil of Hillsboro, who could always bring a smile to his face and a twinkle to his eyes whenever they were with him.
Steve is also survived by siblings Kelly, Colleen (Nuttbrock), Molly (Strong), Patrick, Michele (Tennesen), and Tigue; predeceased by brother Lary.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Steve's honor to CurePSP (www.psp.org), the leading nonprofit organization working to improve awareness, education, care and cure for devastating prime of life neurodegenerative diseases including PSP; or, a charity of choice.
A celebration of Steve's life will be held at a later date. "Fly high Soaring Eagle"...
