Mikenna Marie Vanek

May 25, 1998 ~ February 1, 2018 (age 19)

 

Mikenna Marie Vanek was born in Rancho Mirage, California and lived all of her life in Gladstone, Oregon. Mikenna was born second in the Vanek family to Todd and Kora Vanek.  Oldest sister Kaylee Vanek, followed by Mikenna, Genae, and Gabrielle. Mikenna attended Cascade Heights Public Charter School followed by Clackamas Middle College and Clackamas Community College with a 3.98 GPA, graduating with Honors and associate’s degree at 18 focusing on English Literature and writing. 

Mikenna, always full of wonder, enjoyed hiking, swimming, climbing, reading, writing, photography and traveling. She believed in philanthropy and was compassionate for all living things. She was colorful, vivacious, and a loving spirit that is unmatched...as she is the brightest star in our sky.

She was survived by her three sisters, parents, grand-parents, great grand-parents, aunts, uncles and cousins from Ohio, California, and Oregon.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 9th, at 10am at Mountain View Cemetery 500 Hilda St, Oregon City, Oregon.

A Celebration of Mikenna’s Life will be held on Saturday, February 10th, at 3pm at Gladstone Christian Church 305 E. Dartmouth St., Gladstone Oregon.

Funds raised go towards the Out of the Darkness Walks, AFSP Foundation, Depression research and towards a bench at Clackamas River where Mikenna spent many of her days swimming, walking and skateboarding.
