Gordon Ralph Janzck

Gordon Ralph Janzck, born on May 3, 1924, passed away July 10, 2017, at 93. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Paula, his brother John, and his wife Mary.

Gordon was a life-long Oregonian and grew up in the Clackamas area. He had an entrepreneur spirit at an early age. Riding his bike, he started out delivering newspapers and ended his full career designing and building homes. He and Mary worked side-by-side in their business, Gordon Janzck Home Builders.

Gordon was a very kind, humble, caring friend and gentleman. He was a devoted husband. He enjoyed car races, boxing matches, attending and watching rodeos, and spending quality time with friends at the exercise gym. Gordon partnered with many community nonprofit organizations and made an impact in communities from Tillamook all the way across Oregon to Halfway.  He will be remembered for his generosity.

For the last 10 years, Gordon has lived and been cared for at Cortez Senior Care adult foster home in Beaverton. A special thank you to Sofia Niga, her family and staff for the wonderful loving care given to Gordon over the years. In addition, we would like to express appreciation to the staff and hospice team at HouseCall Providers for their support during this difficult time. We request that instead of flowers, donations may be made to them in Gordon’s name.

Gordon served in the Merchant Marines. A military service will be held at Willamette National Cemetery on Wednesday,July 19, 2017. Meet at the Cemetery office at 1:45 p.m. to be directed to the service location. After the service, a reception will be held at Shari’s Restaurant, 12082 SE Sunnyside Road, Clackamas, OR.
