Dean Penni 79, of Oregon City, Oregon, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.

Born October 24, 1938 in Portland, Oregon, Dean was the son of the late David and Margaret Penni.

Dean was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Lee Penni; Parents: David and Margaret Penni and Sister: Judy Moon. Dean is survived by; daughter Deana (Gary) Strean of Molalla, and three sons; Dave (Jeanette) Penni; Doug (Cathy) Penni of Oregon City; Darren (Heather) Penni of Colton; 8 grandchildren, Michael, Nicole, Dani, Rory, Megan, Brooke, Kendall, Natalie, one great-grandson, Troy; Brother: Tom Penni of LaPine; Sisters: Barbara (Andy) Hoffard of  El Cajon, California and Mary Lynn Penni-Lionberger of Aloha.

Dean attended Park Place Elementary, Oregon City Junior High and Oregon City High School, until he left for the Navy in November of 1955.  Dean met and married his beautiful wife while still in the Navy.  Dean and Lee were married on August 2, 1958.  Dean was honorably discharged from the Navy in October of 1959.  Dean and Lee eventually settled in Milwaukie, Oregon, where they raised their 4 children.  Dean enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and taking his family out on the boat to water ski. Dean worked as a mechanic and retired as the Fleet Supervisor from the City of Milwaukie in February of 1999.  Dean and Lee lived their retirement years in Oregon City, Oregon where they enjoyed spending time with their family and friends.  Their greatest joy was their kids, grandkids and great grandson, all who they loved with their entire heart and soul.

Memorial services will be conducted on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 11 a.m., at the Museum of the Oregon Territory, 211 Tumwater Drive, Oregon City, Oregon with Pastor Ward Hill officiating.
