Bobby Gene Lassley passed away at his residence in Vancouver, WA on March 2, 2018, at the age of 89.
Bob is survived by his wife of 70 years, Julia Ann (Knight), children Kathy Tafea and Ronald Lassely (Diana), nieces Shelly Sprague (Jim) and Linda Hooper (Ken), grandchildren Sally Rehling (Daryl Manullang), Ryan Lassley (Kelly Tanner), Julia McGillis (Bryan), Corinne Orsak (Jacob) and great-grandchildren Elijah, Jacob, Joshua, Presley, Evan, Leo and Fiona.
Bob was born to Bert and Sadie (Moses) on May 29th, 1928 in Robinson, Kansas. He is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings Lela, Ferne, Herman, Jerry, Keith, Melcine, Jack, and his youngest child, Mark. Bob grew up in La Grande, Oregon and attended La Grande High School, class of 1946. Bob andJulia were married October 24th, 1947 and moved to Portland, Oregon where Bob worked as a mechanic for Portland General Electric for 30 years. They later settled in Vancouver, Washington where Bob became a certified vocational automotive instructor at Battle Ground High School for 19 years and earned his Master Mechanic certification. Bob was an avid car and motorcycle enthusiast, gardener and at age 70 became an aircraft pilot.
Bob’s funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2018; 1:00 pm at Holman-Hankins funeral home 715 7th ST Oregon City, OR 97045.
