Our History

It is an honor for our family to be part of a tradition of service dating back to 1890. As one of the last remaining family owned and operated funeral homes, we pride ourselves on our commitment to each and every family we serve.

Our Valued Staff

The staff at Holman-Hankins-Bowker & Waud Funeral Service takes great pride in caring for our families, and has made a commitment to provide you with a beautiful, lasting tribute to your loved one. Honoring your loved one is our top priority, and part of that is assisting you deal with grief during this difficult time. Everyone’s needs are different, and for that reason, families can entrust their loved one’s wishes to our staff.   • Suzan Waud

    Suzan Waud

    Sue is the matriarch of our family. She and her husband Pat are responsible for the success of Holman-Hankins since 1971. Sue has long been a fixture here in the Oregon City area, serving with Women's Club, Clackamas Community Board, Willamette Falls Board along with volunteering countless hours with her husband at the Elks Lodge and Rotary Club.

  • Tim  Waud

    Tim Waud

    Tim Waud is a third-generation funeral director who began his career at a very young age. He has been a licensed funeral service practitioner since 1993. Tim and his wife Jill, a 4th-grade teacher at Gaffney Lane Elementary, both grew up in Oregon City and now live next door to the funeral home. Tim has been very active in the Oregon City community serving as a meet director and swim coach for the Oregon City Swim Team. Tim currently coaches the Oregon City Tankers, a U.S. Masters Swimming workout group, and was honored as the U.S. Masters Swimming Coach of the Year in 2017. Tim takes great pride in continuing the legacy his parents Pat and Sue Waud have created by serving the community.

  • Ron Rohde

    Ron Rohde

    Ron Rohde comes to Oregon from Wyoming. A graduate of Willamette University, Ron learned the funeral trade by serving an apprenticeship under Pat's supervision. Having worked part-time in the late '80s and then full-time starting in 1994, Ron has developed a deep appreciation for the funeral industry and the families he serves

  • Tyler Waud

    Tyler Waud, Advance Planner / Continuing Care

    Tyler Waud grew up in the funeral industry living next door to the funeral home. Like his brother Tim, he would spend afternoons at the office working on homework and helping out with chores. As a result of helping with the family business, Tyler found his a passion in helping families plan ahead thereby alleviating the emotional and financial difficulties of funeral planning while also grieving. Tyler helps our families with every detail in pre-planning and takes great pride in providing them with peace of mind. Don't worry when you receive a call from Tyler as he is also our continuing care specialist. Tyler follows a Continuing Care plan that ensures our families are taken care of with compassion and that we will always be here for them. When not helping families plan ahead, Tyler enjoys spending time with his partner Tae, their three teenage girls and a little boy, traveling, college football, snowboarding, cooking and volunteering in his community.
