Born March 11, 1928 in Oakley, Idaho to Wilda R. Cranney Freestone and Harvey Freestone. She had 1 brother, Blen H. Freestone and 1 sister, Theta F. Freestone Jones. Married to Bobbie G. Putman on May 4, 1946. She had 3 children: Kay A. Akers, Randy B. Putman (deceased), and Tanya M. Putman, 4 grandchildren: Brandon Akers, Dusti Akers, Paige Osburn, and Blair Osburn, 2 great-grandchildren: Braedon and Samantha Akers. Karma married Garth R. Edington on Febuary 25, 1970. She had 2 step sons: Mitchell Edington (deceased) and Rodger Edington and 2 step grandchildren: Brian Edington and Laura Bliss. She had 1 daughter-in-law: Beth Putman and 1 son-in-law: Clay Osburn.
Karma graduated from Burley High School in Burley, Idaho and was a hairdresser. She managed J.C. Penney’s salon in Salem and Montgomery Ward’s salon in Portland. She received her real estate license in 1978 and worked for several real estate companies. Karma was a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Karma and Garth were sealed in the Portland, OR temple.
Karma loved to travel. She and Garth went on many cruises and trips. Garth and Karma liked taking their boat to the San Juan Islands. She also liked to sew, make jewelry, and do crafts. A memorial service will be held on January 10, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on14340 S Donovan Rd. Oregon City, OR 97045 with internment after the service at Lincoln Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Make a Wish Foundation. Special thanks to the staff at Ivy Court who loved and took wonderful care of her these last few years! She loved you!
