Douglas (Doug) Doane Forncrook passed away November 28, 2017 at his home in Oregon City.
Doug was born in Eugene Oregon. His family moved to Portland where he attended Grant High School. He met his wife Carol in high school and they married in 1959. Doug worked for Hyster Company, served in the Air National Guard and attended Portland State College. After graduating he started his 31 year career at US Bank in downtown Portland as a teller and then worked in the Trust Division.
Doug was a musician and played violin, viola, and saxophone. He played violin with the Willamette Falls Symphony and served on their board of directors. He also served on the board for the Columbia River Gorge Discovery Center and Museum. He was a longtime member of Oregon City United Methodist Church. He gave much of his time to OCUMC and sang in the choir.
He is survived by his wife Carol; daughter Teri McGarry with husband Dave; son James with wife Gina, son Michael; sister Cheryl (Waldele); 4 grandchildren; and extended family.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm on December 16, 2017 at Oregon City United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Providence Hospice, Columbia River Gorge Discovery Center, Willamette Falls Symphony, American Cancer Society.
